What we look at first
Lean tells us which way the tree wants to go. Crown weight tells us whether the top is heavier on one side than the trunk can comfortably carry. Wind decides whether a cut is safe today or waits for a calmer day. Obstacles in the fall line, such as a roof, a fence, or the next tree over, decide whether a piece can drop whole or has to come down some other way.
We make those calls before anyone starts a saw or goes up.
The escape path and the drop zone
The first thing we clear is an escape path leading away from the fall line, so anyone on the ground has somewhere to go if the tree or a limb doesn't behave. Bystanders and workers who aren't needed for the cut stay out of the marked zone.
The overhead crew and the ground crew coordinate throughout, so the person cutting always knows who is where.

Bucket truck and stump grinder
The aerial lift (bucket truck) gets us to limbs that need work without climbing blind or guessing from the ground. We can see the cut, the branch, and the clearance from where we're working.
When a tree comes out entirely, the stump grinder takes the stump down so the spot is usable again, whether that means lawn or a replacement tree.
Planting replacements
Planting fills the gap once the existing trees have been dealt with. Expect $100 to $300 per tree.
Rockledge is hot, with long cooling seasons (climate zone 2A), so a new tree is dealing with heat from the day it goes in. Pick the spot with that in mind.

The Job, Done Right
Our crew does the work, checks it, and leaves the site clean. You see everything we did.
Some of what that looks like in the field:
- Mark and control the drop zone, keep bystanders and nonessential workers clear, and coordinate overhead and ground crews.
- Before felling, consider the tree’s lean, crown weight, wind, and obstacles, and clear an escape path away from the fall line.
What to Expect to Pay

Common Questions
Tree removal typically ranges from $200 to $5,000. Price depends on tree height, diameter, location, lean, nearby structures or power lines, and whether stump grinding or hauling is included. Larger or more complex jobs near homes or utilities require more crew, rigging, and equipment, which raises the cost.
A 40-foot tree usually falls in the middle of the $200–$5,000 removal range. Factors that increase price include trunk diameter, branch spread, proximity to buildings or wires, and whether the crew must climb or use a crane. Stump removal adds $90–$1,200 extra.
Most tree removal is paid work costing $200–$5,000. Free service for seniors is uncommon and usually limited to local nonprofit programs, utility assistance, or municipal grants when a tree poses a documented safety hazard. Homeowners should check city or county resources directly.
