Getting into position
We reach the work with an arborist climbing line, a safety harness and a saddle. That setup lets the climber move through the crown and work at the spots that need support without leaning out over open air.
If a cut is needed while we're up there, the climber keeps firm footing and a two-handed grip on the saw. Cabling is not a cutting job, but a dead or rubbing branch sometimes has to come out before a cable goes in.
Handling the debris
Small limbs and brush from the job go to the chipper. Nobody feeds it with hands or feet, and everyone stays clear of the in-feed chute. If something needs pushing, it gets pushed with a tool, not a body part.

What the price covers
Cabling runs $200 to $400 per tree. We give you the number after we've looked at the tree itself, since what you're paying for is the work on that crown and not a flat package.

The Job, Done Right
Our crew does the work, checks it, and leaves the site clean. You see everything we did.
Some of what that looks like in the field:
- Train chainsaw operators in notching, hinge wood, and back-cut techniques; maintain firm footing and a two-handed grip while cutting.
- Use chipper guards and emergency stops, stay clear of the in-feed chute, and never push material into the machine with hands or feet.
What to Expect to Pay
Typical ranges, not a fixed price - the exact number is confirmed in writing before work starts.
$75–$1500
$200–$5000
Common Questions
Demand often drops in late fall and winter, which can lower rates within the normal $200–$5,000 range. Mild weather also lets crews work safely without ice or summer foliage blocking access. Booking during slower months may reduce wait times as well.
An unground stump can regrow, attract insects, create tripping hazards, and interfere with mowing or landscaping. Stump removal costs $90–$1,200 depending on size and root depth. Grinding below grade allows soil and grass to be restored over the area.
Hourly rates are uncommon; most jobs are bid by the tree. When charged hourly, expect figures that contribute to the overall $200–$5,000 removal range. Crew size, equipment, and job complexity determine the final total more than an hourly meter.
